Sixty-three total RSVPs for a pizza lunch on a holiday Saturday is a good way to start a month. That was July 4 at Nollie, and it set the pace for what followed. Three resident events ran in July, activity showed up on the community platform on 21 separate days, and 29 conversations drew 37 replies between them.
What made July distinctive was the balance: 35 posts in Building Chat and 31 in Marketplace. Summer is a turnover season in Tempe, and residents leaned on each other to move furniture, hand off free items, and get newcomers set up.
The 4th of July Pizza Luncheon ran at the Nollie Clubhouse, and the invitation was simple: grab a slice, grab a drink, meet your neighbors and the office team. It brought 63 total RSVPs, the strongest number on our 2026 calendar so far.
On July 10 we ran a Hat Decorating Workshop, hats and fabric markers provided, with 27 total RSVPs. A post went up in the feed as it started: "Hat painting is happening now! Meet us at the resident lounge. Grab a hat before they are all taken!" The lounge is one of the amenities that gets used for almost everything we host.
Bingo Night closed the month on July 24 with 17 total RSVPs. Across all three, the pattern held: casual, in the lounge or clubhouse, easy to walk into after work.
The best thread of the month came from a dead car battery. A resident posted from the garage asking whether anyone had a jump starter or jumper cables. Within three hours a neighbor came back with real advice: most insurance policies include roadside assistance at no extra cost, and Costco is a solid option if the battery needs replacing outright. We added that we keep cables up front to lend.
New residents got looked after all month. July's local mentions came out of practical needs rather than restaurant lists. Costco came up in the jump starter thread as the neighbor-endorsed place for a battery replacement, and a resident spent part of the month looking for someone nearby who cooks Indian food weekly.
The Neighborhood Favorites group is where this collects over time. It launched in May 2026 and has 19 members trading coffee shops, restaurants, and spots worth knowing around the Apache Boulevard corridor.

August is our two year anniversary, and we are marking it with a pool party on August 8: lawn games, pool volleyball, food, drinks, and a raffle. A lot of the month happened in Building Chat, where neighbors posted the everyday stuff that keeps a community running: found items, questions for the office, and heads-ups for each other. Alongside that, the Marketplace channel buzzed with residents selling and giving away furniture and household goods as some folks settled in and others cleared space.
What stood out most was how much residents leaned on each other. When someone found an ID in the elevator or a ring on the ground, the first instinct was to post it and get it back to the right person. That is the kind of quiet, everyday care that makes a building feel like a neighborhood.
The team kept the calendar warm and welcoming this month. Early in June, residents were invited to start their morning with a clubhouse breakfast of bagels, cream cheese, beverages, and donuts.
